Cohesin and the PBAF chromatin remodelling complex are required to repress transcription at sites of DNA double strand breaks. To investigate this and rule out known sister-chromatid dependent functions of cohesin, cells were held in G1 phase. Following depletion of the STAG2 subunit of cohesin or the BAF180 subunit of PBAF, cells were irradiated and analysed by exome sequencing to investigate the effects on genome stability.
