KYTC - Rural and Secondary Roads

This mapping application displays rural and secondary roads in sparsely populated areas across Kentucky. It is designed to support transportation planning and decision-making by providing insights into roadway locations and funding allocations. Each fiscal year, counties, incorporated cities, and unincorporated urban areas receive County and Municipal Road Aid to support the construction, reconstruction, and maintenance of local roads. County Road Aid funding is determined by the Fifth’s Formula, while Municipal Road Aid is based on population data from the most recent Census. This map helps users better understand how these funds are distributed to maintain Kentucky’s roadway network.
