Dyspnoea and pain in people hospitalised with an acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

This thesis explores the symptoms of dyspnoea and pain in people hospitalised with an acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It investigates the prevalence of these two symptoms; current clinical practice in assessing these symptoms; and physiotherapists' perceptions of these symptoms and the influences on their clinical practice in assessing them, in this clinical state.
