Rapid identification of new genetic variation for crop improvement in large EMS-induced sorghum populations

Three different concentrations (0.05, 0.15 and 0.25 %) of EMS and a zero-control were tested to ascertain how EMS effects survivability, seed yield and mutation rates. Whole genome sequencing (Illumina) of M2 plants was used to determine the number and type of mutations resulting from each treatment level.
