Danish Gallup Omnibus Data, 1983 comprises 22 omnibus surveys carried out by the Danish Gallup Institute in 1983. # #Each survey contains a number of demographic variables common to all the surveys of that year, as well as a number of questions dealing with topical events. # #The present survey is a year file based on all the surveys. # #The questions common to all 1983 omnibuses are: #The respondent's sex, age and marital status; size of the household, number of adults (persons aged 15 or more) and children, and age of the children; the respondent's position in the household; the respondent's education, occupational status, public or private employment and income; education, occupational status and public or private employment of the head of the household; gross household income; the housewife's occupational status; housing conditions and ownership of the dwelling as well as geographical location and degree of urbanization; whether the respondent has smoked various forms of tobacco on the day before the interview; the respondent's newspaper reading habits; habits as regards weeklies, monthlies, magazines, etc.; the respondent's last cinema visit; use of bus/coach and (as regards respondents in Zealand) S-train, etc.; the respondent's source of information concerning the purchase of convenience goods and municipal information; which party the respondent voted for at the last general election and which party the respondent would vote for at a general election on the day after the interview. # #The special questions deal with such issues as: # #Omnibus no. 01 (DDA-1142): #Use of various means of transport (passenger car, taxi, bicycle, motorbicycle); use of and attitude to public transport (bus and train); attitude to a bridge over/tunnel under the Great Belt; the TV serial 'Een stor familie' (One Big Family); and attitude to a second TV channel with commercials. # #Omnibus no. 02 (DDA-1143): #The occupation of empty houses by young people, i.e. squatting, and the police versus the squatters; TV interviews with squatters; knowledge of and attitude to amniocentesis; and attitude to legal abortion. # #Omnibus no. 03 (DDA-1144): #The Government's economic plans; effects of these plans on Danish economy and on the respondent's household; the Government's economic plans; effects of these plans on Danish economy and on the respondent's household; attitude to the conflict between Israel and the Arab states; proposed tax reliefs if the collective bargaining results in voluntary wage restraint; and knowledge of and attitude to the conflict between Radio Denmark and DBU (the Danish football association) concerning the right to broadcast football matches. # #Omnibus no. 06 (DDA-1147): #Attitude to Denmark's membership of NATO; the stationing of Russian missiles which may reach Europe, and the power balance in Europe; Europe's dependency on the USA in case peace in Europe is threatened; the offer made by the Russian leader Andropov as regards a bilateral reduction of nuclear missiles in Europe; attitude to investing money in various types of private limited companies and tax deductions; attitude to Denmark's membership of NATO; and the TV programme on investment companies and private limited companies. # #Omnibus no. 11 (DDA-1152): #Attitude to a continued tight economic policy;
