An oceanic mesoscale Direct Numerical Simulation from an idealized Southern Ocean Model
收藏资源简介:
We use MITgcm to build an idealized Southern Ocean model and conduct a fully oceanic-mesoscale-resolving simulation. The dataset contains the results of both basic simulation and tracer tests. The horizontal resolution of the basic simulation (in the directory ./2km) is 2km, offering the three-day averaged variables for one model year after reaching the quasi-statistical steady state and the daily instantaneous field for two model months. The basic variables include potential temperature, three-dimensional velocity, and sea surface height anomaly. The horizontal resolution of the tracer tests (in directory ./tracer) is 8km, which includes the results of four passive tracers stirred in a quasi-statistical steady-state flow for four model years. We also provide model configuration files and pick-up files.
