microplastics as vectors for microcystins

The aim of this study was to 1) evaluate the dynamic of MC-LR concentration in the turbulent water containing PS-MPs, 2) illustrate the formation of biofilm on the PS-MPs surface and 3) elucidate the role of biofilm in shaping the interaction between PS-MPs and MC-LR. The results from this study are expected to provide a new insight for understanding the environmental behavior and ecological risk of MPs in real aquatic environments.
