We performed Cut&Run ChIP-Seq to characterize where NSMCE2 binds on the unintegrated HIV-1 chromatin. NSMCE2 is a known E3 SUMO ligase that we suspect of SUMOylating the viral chromatin and inducing its epigenetic silencing.
