Metagenomic analysis of soil microbial consortia in the Japanese agricultural fields. soil metagenome

The aim of this work is to clarify differences in the functional potential of soil microbial consortia depending on location and land use. We collected soil samples of paddy field and cropland from three different locations, Yamagata (north), Tokyo (middle) and Kumamoto (south), respectively. Metagenomic sequences obtained from different samples were applied to MAPLE system to evaluate metabolic and physiological potential and then compared with each other to characterize functional properties.
