The study of children's level of living in low-income families were conducted on behalf of NOVA (Norwegian Social Research). The survey is part of a research project on children and young people's living conditions and welfare, that NOVA and the Norwegian Women's Public Health Association (NKS) announced an agreement on in 2000.
The aim of this study on children in low-income families is to obtain knowledge about the relationship between parents' finances and children's living conditions and daily life in their leisure, at school and at home. The focus is on children's experiences related to growing up in low-income families.
The survey is scheduled for three rounds - 2003, 2006 and 2009. The panel in 2006 and 2009 will consist of those who responded in 2003 that has not migrated or died. In 2003, the age group 6-9 years were interviewed indirectly through parents.
