Data about applications submitted to the the U.S. Department of Labor by employers seeking to employ foreign citizens in Cambridge, MA through the the Permanent Labor Certification (PERM) and Labor Condition Application (LCA) programs (H-1B, H-1B1 and E-3). A permanent labor certification allows an employer to hire a foreign worker permanently in the United States. A certified Labor Condition Application allows an employer to temporarily employ a foreign worker in specialty occupations through the H-1B, H-1B1 and E-3 programs.
Each row in the data set represents a single employer application. In the LCA program, a single application can request one or more positions. Employers can submit multiple applications during a single year.
