UVB light mutagenesis in Xeroderma Pigmentosum C human cells. Homo sapiens

This experimental design is innovative as it allows to detect the mutations generated in the first/second round of replication on human skin fibroblasts after UVB radiation and it also takes into account the clonal diversity, an important characteristic of the carcinogenic process. Our work provided a more global picture and a detailed description of UVB mutagenesis induction in human cells, especially in the absence of XPC protein and may also help to better understand the mutational processes in skin tumors of individuals not affected with XP.
