Dataset for: Adopting New Approach Methodologies for food safety assessment: A scoping review of evidence from Singapore

This dataset contains the structured extraction and analytical classification of peer-reviewed studies included in a scoping review of New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) directrly applied or transferable to food safety assessment in Singapore (2014–2024). Data extraction was conducted in accordance with the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) methodological guidance for scoping reviews. Records were screened by methodological domain and independently validated by two reviewers. The curated tabular dataset operationalizes a modified PECO logic adapted for NAM-based chemical safety assessment and captures predefined analytical dimensions, including methodological domain, epistemic role (development/optimization vs application), application layer (direct food safety vs transferable), context of use within the food safety risk-assessment continuum, toxicological endpoints, ingestion relevance, and methodological readiness indicators.
