R code and data for: "Unusual observations of juveniles of the elusive Sawtail Grouper Mycteroperca prionura highlight association with black coral colonies" This repository contains the R script and partial dataset associated with the above research note published in Ciencias Marinas. The R script reproduces all figures presented in the manuscript. The dataset (Prionura_Black_coral.xlsx) includes underwater visual census (UVC) data from La Gaviota Island (Bay of La Paz, Gulf of California, Mexico) collected in 2023–2024, and is sufficient to reproduce Figures 3a and 3b. Figures 2b and 2c are based on long-term monitoring data from Sociedad de Historia Natural Niparajá A.C. (2005–2022), which are available upon request from that organization.
