STAGES OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF PROSE TRANSLATION FROM ENGLISH INTO UZBEK

This article explores the stages of the development of prose translation from English into Uzbek, focusing on historical, linguistic, and cultural aspects of the process. The study traces the evolution of translation practices from early adaptations and indirect translations to modern, professionally grounded approaches. Particular attention is given to the role of socio-cultural context, language policy, and the growing influence of globalization in shaping translation norms and strategies. The article also examines the changes in translation techniques, including shifts from literal translation to more communicative and functional approaches aimed at preserving both meaning and stylistic features of the original text. The findings demonstrate that prose translation from English into Uzbek has undergone significant transformation and continues to develop as an important field of linguistic and cultural exchange.
