资源简介:
This folder contains cyclone tracks generated for Pepler and Dowdy (2022)
These cyclones were identified using the Murray and Simmonds (1991) and Simmonds et al. (1999) cyclone tracking scheme. The source code and documntation is available at https://cyclonetracker.earthsci.unimelb.edu.au/ Tracks are provided for 12 RCM simulations over the Australian region for 1980-2009 and 2070-2099 based on rcp8.5. Surface cyclones are tracked using 6-hourly MSLP, and upper cyclones are tracked using daily 500 hPa geopotential height.
Cyclones are tracked using weak Laplacian minimums of 0.5 hPa (deg.lat.)^-2 at the surface and 1 m (deg.lat.)^-2 at 500 hPa; this is weaker than the final minima applied in the paper (0.8 and 6 respectively), in case users are interested in weaker systems.
Filenames are structured as: Upper: UM_lows_$RCM_$GCM_$RCP_500hPa_proj100_rad2cv1_bigaust_daily_fixes.csv Surface: UM_lows_$RCM_$GCM_$RCP_proj100_rad2cv0.5_bigaust_fixes.csv
**Proj100 - Indicates the cyclones were tracked on this projection, an ~ 1.5 degree polar grid **Rad2cvXX: Indicates the radius that laplacian was calculated over and the minimum used for tracking **Daily indicates the lows were tracked using daily mean fields rather than 6-hourly fields. **CCAM files are given by years rather than RCP, as the historical and RCP8.5 forcings were combined into a single simulation.

Column headings: ID Track ID Fix Instance within track Date Date (UTC) Time Time (UTC) Open/closed Is there closed circulation (0) or an "open" low Lon Longitude Lat Latitude MSLP Central pressure (hPa) Laplacian Laplacian of MSLP (hPa. Deg.lat^2), which represents the curvature of the MSLP. This is a better indicator of the strength of a system Depth Depth of cyclone relative to background pressure (hPa) Radius Radius of anticyclone (degrees) Up Steering velocity (U) Vp Steering velocity (V) Location 1 indicates whether a cyclone is currently in the greater Australian region (100-180E, 10-60S, noting not all RCMs have tracks for the whole domain)
Tracking parameters are consistent with CMIP5 cyclones tracked for Pepler and Dowdy (2021), see https://doi.org/10.6084/m9.figshare.13393172.v1
References: Murray, R.
