The bacteria shewanella oneidensis is highly sensitive to ionizing radiation. In this study, we measured the transcriptional response of shewanella oneidensis to various doses of ionizing radiation (40, 1, 0.5 and 0.25Gy) when grown in a defied media (SBM++) and a rich media (LB). For all samples, RNA was collected 60min after exposure and extracted with trizol, treated with DNase. Samples were depleted of rRNA as part of the Illumina bacterial RNAseq library prep.
