Digital Archive from Archaeological Works at the Inglewood Development, Paignton, Torbay, Devon, September- October 2021 and 2023 March-May 2023

This collection comprises images, site records, reports, spreadsheets, and GIS data from archaeological works at the site of the proposed Inglewood Development, Paignton, Torbay, Devon. This work was undertaken by Archaeology England between September and October 2021 and between March and May 2023. Evidence for two phases of prehistoric systems of land division and extensive 19th century quarrying were revealed during the archaeological excavations. Prehistoric flint recovered from the topsoil coupled with sparse Bronze Age pottery from the ditch fills suggests that these field systems may date from the Bronze Age.
