资源简介:
This open-access dataset presents Version 1 of the Prion Degradome Foundation Atlas, a curated proteolytic peptide resource designed to advance translational research in prion biology and this devastating neurodegenerative disease. The atlas integrates proteolytic fragments derived from the human prion protein (PrP), encompassing wild-type (PrPC) and pathogenic isoforms (PrPSc) associated with heriditary spongiform encephalopathies. By systematically mapping and annotating these cleavage products, the dataset provides a foundational framework for understanding prion conversion, aggregation, and clearance mechanisms. These data are particularly relevant for clinical and translational researchers engaged in studies on sporadic, genetic, or acquired prion diseases, and for those developing biomarker-guided diagnostics or therapeutic interventions. The atlas enables cross-referencing of peptide signatures with disease stage, strain type, and treatment response, supporting biomarker discovery, patient stratification, and validation of disease-modifying strategies. Each peptide entry is annotated with detailed chemical and positional information on its proteolytic origin. The dataset is provided as a tab-delimited ASCII (.txt) file for seamless integration into bioinformatics and statistical pipelines. ReproducibilityAll datasets can be regenerated using open-source tools (Python, BLAST, SAS). Fully documented Python scripts are included in the repository to ensure transparency, reproducibility, and adaptability across computational environments, following the methodology described in [1].Reference[1] Petzold A.
