Alignments and treefiles

BLASTn analysis was performed to compare obtained sequences against the NCBI (National Centre for Biotechnology Information, USA) GenBank nucleotide database (https://blast.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/Blast.cgi) to obtain identifications. ITS comparisons were made against the NCBI Fungal ITS Reference Sequence Targeted Loci Project database (Schoch et al., 2014). For <i>Aspergillus</i> and <i>Penicillium</i> strains, identifications were made based on comparisons with a locally curated DNA sequence database largely based on Houbraken et al. (2020); <i>Alternaria</i> against data largely based on Woudenberg et al. (2013), <i>Cladosporium</i> against data largely based on Bensch et al. (2012); <i>Trichoderma</i> against data largely based on Bissett et al. (2015); and <i>Fusarium</i> was identified using data on www.fusarium.org.
