Sunshine Creek - Coastal Wetland and Riparian Erosion Rehabilitation

This project will control invasive weeds (including WoNS) and revegetate with appropriate native tubestock an area of wetland and adjacent remnant bushland at Sunshine Creek. The project will work with Noosa Landcare, Noosa Council, community volunteers and local residents and focus on the wetland area behind the frontal dune, the creek mouth, remnant bushland adjacent to Tingira Crescent, Sunrise Beach and steep, eroded areas on the northern creek bank at Sunshine Beach. Works will: improve breeding and foraging habitat for wildlife (including wallum-dependent frogs and Glossy Black Cockatoos); stabilise the creek bank/dunes; reduce erosion; improve water quality; and consolidate natural area linkages from Noosa to Peregian.
