Farm Open Days, 1973; Visitors Survey

<P>Abstract copyright UK Data Service and data collection copyright owner.</P><br>The aim of this survey was to obtain information on the type and origin of visitors to farm open days; to determine how well farm open days provide an interesting and enjoyable experience and to what extent they increase the visitor's understanding of farming as an industry.<br><B>Main Topics</B>:<BR><br>Attitudinal/Behavioural Questions<br> Number of male/female visitors and their age, population of their home town/village, where travelled from, distance travelled, whether visitors on holiday, duration of holiday, whether visit planned, source of information about open days, whether more open days should be held, whether respondent would repeat visit. Features most interesting to respondent/his or her children, length of visit, suggested improvements, features disliked about open day, other comments. Occupation, any links with the farming industry.<br> Background Variables<br> Age, sex, employment status. Farm type, level of charges, method of advertising used, area, region, political leaning of district, population density.
