Lignocellulose degrading bacterial communities play a major role in the recycling of Carbon on Earth. We have isolated an Enterobacter sp strain, from a cellulolytic consortium obtained from decaying native forest soil . We have sequenced the genome using the Illumina MiSeq sequencing platform and we have identified a cellulose synthesis operon, probably implied in exopolysaccharide construction, as well as several polysaccharides utilizing enzymes . This work contributes to the understanding of the role of Enterobacteria in cellulose degrading consortia.
