资源简介:
This dataset provides aggregated criteria weights and ecotourism suitability maps for three outdoor activities—hiking, picnicking and mountain biking—in the municipalities of Chignahuapan and Zacatlán, in the Sierra Norte of Puebla, Mexico. The information was produced within a study on how forest landscapes support ecotourism (López-Paniagua et al., 2025a) and the resulting suitability maps are also used as input for a companion analysis on the spatial prioritization of ecotourism areas under land-use change (López-Paniagua et al., 2025b).
López-Paniagua, C., González-Guillén, M. de J., Valdez-Lazalde, J. R., Reyes-Hernández, V. J., & Arana-Coronado, O. A. (2025b). Spatial prioritization of ecotourism areas under land-use change: A case study in central Mexico [Manuscript submitted for publication].The criteria weights were derived using an Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) framework informed by a survey of ecotourism practitioners. The hierarchy distinguishes accessibility, terrain, vegetation and proximity to water, with associated spatial indicators. Individual judgments were combined into group-level weights for each activity.Tabular files (CSV) include the final criteria and sub-criteria weights, along with simple summaries of survey participants by activity and experience. Raster files (GeoTIFF) depict categorical suitability for each activity and municipality at 30 m resolution in WGS 84 / UTM Zone 14N. Suitability is expressed in four classes, from areas not suitable for the activity to areas with high suitability.Only non-identifiable, aggregated information is provided. Detailed methodological descriptions and full survey design are reported in the related manuscripts. The dataset is accompanied by a README file (
README_Ecotourism_AHP_Chignahuapan_Zacatlan.txt
) that provides detailed metadata for all files.
