Ride Comfort: Smartphone-Based Vibration Measurement Dataset This dataset contains supplementary material from the Ride Comfort project, which evaluates passenger comfort in cars using smartphone-based vibration measurements. The data were collected using an Android smartphone equipped with an LSM6DSO IMU and processed according to ISO 2631-1:1997 comfort evaluation standards. The dataset includes: Raw acceleration records (X, Y, Z axes) from 8 test drives at 35 km/h and 50 km/h. Processed signals: RMS acceleration, Power Spectral Density (PSD), and 1/3-Octave Band spectra. Metadata files with test drive details (vehicle model, location, speed). The Ride Comfort Android app (.xapk) used for data collection. Signal processing employed FFT with selectable windowing functions (Hann, Hamming, Bartlett, Kaiser, Gaussian, etc.) and overlap ratios (50%, 66.66%, 75%). Output files are provided in .csv format for direct analysis in MATLAB, Python, NI LabVIEW, and other platforms. This dataset extends the Master’s thesis Evaluation of Ride Comfort (2020, VŠB–TU Ostrava, Handle: http://hdl.handle.net/10084/142151) with new measurements collected in 2025.
