Kashgar project: Gollings collection. Kashgar Russian Consulate

Photographs were taken by John Gollings in March-April 2005 as part of the Kashgar Project. This sub-collection contains images of the Kashgar Russian Consulate, located in Kashgar’s Old City.
The Kashgar Project brings together teams from the Monash Asia Institute and Urumqi Normal University in Urumqi, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China, in an international research collaboration to document, measure, and define the most significant cultural monuments and spaces of Kashgar. The Monash Asia Institute and Urumqi Normal University teams are working with the support of the Department of Tourism, Government of Xinjiang and the Department of Foreign Relations, Kashgar. For the purposes of this collection, Kasghar is defined as the modern and ancient city and the eleven countries that currently form the greater region of "Kasghar".
All images within the collection have been converted to jpeg format from the raw image files.

喀什项目（Kashgar Project）由澳大利亚莫纳什亚洲研究所（Monash Asia Institute）与中国新疆维吾尔自治区乌鲁木齐市乌鲁木齐师范大学（Urumqi Normal University）的研究团队联合发起，为一项国际合作研究项目，旨在记录、测绘并界定喀什地区最具重要性的文化遗存与公共空间。莫纳什亚洲研究所与乌鲁木齐师范大学的团队，在新疆维吾尔自治区旅游厅（Department of Tourism, Government of Xinjiang）及喀什地区外事局（Department of Foreign Relations, Kashgar）的支持下开展本项研究。
就本次数据集的界定而言，“喀什（Kasghar）”涵盖古今喀什城，以及当前构成“喀什大区域”的11个国家。
本数据集内所有影像均由原始RAW图像文件转换为JPEG格式。
