(1) All data were collected at the respective stationed outposts upon completion of each individual scientific expedition route.
(2) The sample ID represents participating expedition team members and data contributors; different IDs correspond to distinct individuals.
(3) Data on systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, and pulse were measured using an Omron upper-arm electronic sphygmomanometer; data on blood oxygen saturation (SPO2) and heart rate were collected via a Yuwell finger-clip pulse oximeter; and various hormone levels were assayed using Shanghai ELISA kits.
(4) Each batch of data on blood pressure, pulse, blood oxygen saturation and heart rate includes two sets: one set (evening) is measured immediately after arriving at a new destination, while the other set (morning) is taken before breakfast at the new daily accommodation; hormone data were obtained by collecting blood samples at some accommodation sites and transporting them back to the laboratory for testing.
(5) When the human body enters a high-altitude hypoxic environment, indicators such as heart rate, blood oxygen saturation and blood pressure serve as highly sensitive response markers. These parameters are important indicators reflecting the body's hypoxia degree, and continuous monitoring of subjects can particularly reveal the dynamic process of hypoxic stress and adaptive adjustments.
(6) From a physiological perspective, after encountering hypoxic stress, the body regulates hormone levels (increasing or decreasing them) to maintain normal vital activities, forming an adaptive protective mechanism. This provides a theoretical basis for the future development of drugs targeting hypoxic stress. Meanwhile, by gaining a deep understanding of the adverse effects of rapid or first-time high-altitude ascent on the body, we can adopt a gradual high-altitude travel plan, which effectively prevents altitude sickness and also facilitates the development of tourism on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
