Rhynchophorus ferrugineus is a well known plant pest around the world with no specific eradication method. In order to understand the gut bacterial population association with this insect''s physiology, 16S rRNA metagenomic sequences are generated. The informations gained are hope to aid in the development of a new specific pest control method targeting indigenous gut bacteria of Rhynchophorus ferrugineus in the near future.
