Crop diversification is increasingly revealed to play an important role in shaping microbiome composition and function by triggering rhizosphere microbial functions. However, the rhizosphere microbial functions under diversified crop rotations are rarely reported. Particularly, the regulation of key metabolites on rhizosphere microbiome is still unclear. To address this knowledge gap, we assessed rhizosphere bacterial and fungal diversity, interaction network and rhizosphere metabolites, functional microbial populations at harvest stage of winter wheat (June) and summer maize (October) of 2022 from six crop rotations after 6 years rotation.
