The present study was done to characterise the microbial community harboured by the melon fly, Zeugodacus cucurbitae a polyphagous pest of horticultural crops, across the different developmental stages using 16S rRNA gene metabarcoding on the Illumina HiSeq platform and also in silico prediction of their functional metabolic activities.
