This dataset is tailored for teams conducting large language model (LLM) training for seal carving art, developing seal image recognition systems, and researching auxiliary tools for Chinese painting and calligraphy authentication. It targets resolving two core issues: the scattered distribution of resources related to famous artists' seals across dynasties, and the disjointed state between seal albums and teaching tutorials on seal carving.
The dataset compiles resources of famous artists' seals and seal albums spanning different historical periods, covering diverse categories including pre-Qin ancient seals, Qin and Han Dynasty seals, Ming and Qing Dynasty school seal carvings, as well as seals created by modern and contemporary renowned artists. It is provided in both text and image formats.
Unlike single-focused seal album image databases, this dataset is specially paired with seal carving tutorial videos to create a complementary learning ecosystem: seal albums offer static image materials of standard seal patterns, while the tutorial videos supplement dynamic demonstrations of carving knife techniques and explanations of seal composition principles. The combination of these two types of resources provides a more comprehensive input dimension for models to learn the visual characteristics of seals and the entire seal-making procedure.
