Artificial levitation of a very shallow fluidized bed in CFD-DEM

The note discusses an odd fluidization pattern that may be observed in very shallow fluidized beds. The associated material are provided to reproduce this behavior with the MFiX code, version: Release 2016-1. <br>After downloading and building the mfix and post executables, build and execute the source_particle_generator.f90 code which reads the Pgen.in file and creates a particle_input.dat file. Next run the mfix code with the mfix.dat and particle_input.dat files. After the simulation is complete, pressure profiles may be extracted from post by piping in the text file getpgy.in. Note that if the resolution is changed in mfix.dat to different values as discussed in the note, associated changes should also be made to the getpgy.in file.
