Demo 3: Snapscreen - Towards the Future of TV

``Snapscreen'' greatly simplifies the concept of interactive television with an easy-to-use interface that relies upon the combination of any television screen, any mobile device, and a scalable approach to image recognition. The user simply downloads an app, takes a picture of any program on any TV screen, and gains access, via a mobile device, to relevant content, social media, e-commerce, and a unique qualitative ratings system. This is possible because each image initiates an Internet query, as the image is matched to Snapscreen's ongoing collection of images captured each second on every relevant television channel, every advertisement, every program, in every activated country. With minor changes (words in the interface), Snapscreen works in any language. Other systems rely upon large amounts of editorial preparation and updating, and so, they are often impractical. By using images and a large image database, the critical editorial barrier is removed, and, in the process, related copyright concerns are not an issue with Snapscreen.
