De novo assembly of the L. braziliensis MHOM/BR/75/M2904 strain using sequence reads generated by two different NGS platforms, Illumina and PacBio. As a result, we are providing a complete assembly of the genome consisting of 35 contigs, one for each chromosome. In addition, we are providing a complete annotation of predicted genes.

资源简介:
Leishmania braziliensis is a parasitic protist, the causative agent of a type of leishmaniasis known as mucocutaneous leishmaniasis (MCL), in which lesions erupt at many sites on the nasopharyngeal mucosa as consequence of parasite multiplication. A genome draft for the MHOM/BR/75/M2904 strain of L. braziliensis was published in 2007 (Peacock et al. 2007. Nat Genet 39: 839). However, the assembly was not complete, and the chromosomes were rather scaffolds consisting of juxtaposed genomic fragments. In this project, we have carried out a de novo assembly of the genome for this L. braziliensis strain using sequence reads generated by two different NGS platforms, Illumina and PacBio. As a result, we are providing a complete assembly of the genome consisting of 35 contigs, one for each chromosome. In addition, we are providing a complete annotation of predicted genes.
