Preliminary Feed Assembly Design for INCUS

This paper presents a preliminary feed assembly design for a new Earth science mission to be flown on a small satellite platform, recently approved by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). The feed consists of a cluster of seven identical feedhorns at Ka-band fed by WR28 waveguides. Detailed RF and mechanical models are presented for both the feedhorns and the feeding waveguide runs. RF performance, including gain, insertion loss and coupling between feeds will also be discussed. Finally, details about the proposed preliminary fabrication approach will be provided, including a prototype single horn recently fabricated at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL).
