The annual reports of the Mine Subsidence Board are mainly in the form in which presented to parliament, although the reports for 1942-1943 and 1944-1945 financial years are unpublished and survive in typescript format. Early reports record the operations, yearly expenditure, and outstanding premiums (including person’s name, certificate number, cost of premium and renewal) and balance sheets. Later reports also provide details of the Board’s charter, aims, functions, management and structure, review of operations and financial statements in accordance with Government annual reporting requirments.Reports from 1988 onwards contain a contents page, appendices and information is presented using photographs, charts, graphs and maps.
