Comparative Metagenomic Study of the Rhizospheric Microbiome of Ashwagandha Plant

This project focuses on the rhizospheric microbiome of Withania somnifera (Ashwagandha), a prominent medicinal plant, to explore microbial community dynamics and their functional roles in plant health and productivity. The study employs comparative metagenomic analysis using shotgun sequencing to investigate the rhizosphere microbiome's taxonomic composition and functional potential across different soil types and cultivation systems. The dataset provides valuable insights into the core microbiome, beneficial microbial taxa, and functional pathways that contribute to plant growth, resilience, and secondary metabolite production by examining microbial interactions under varying environmental conditions.The findings aim to elucidate the critical role of the microbiome in Ashwagandha's health and development, with potential applications in sustainable agriculture, optimized cultivation strategies, and improved productivity of this medicinally significant crop.
