VPRS 19394 Centenary Committee Minutes

This series comprises volumes recording meeting minutes of the Centenary Committee of Prince Henry’s Hospital (previously known as Melbourne Homoeopathic Dispensary 1869-1876; Melbourne Homoeopathic Hospital 1876-1934) (VA 441). The series also contains meeting minutes from the following groups; Historical Sub-Committee, Scientific Sub-Committee, and Public Relations Sub-Committees. The Centenary Committee and its sub-committees were formed to manage the celebration of the hospital’s 100 years of existence. The Historical Sub-Committee included historian Jacqueline Templeton. At a meeting of the Historical Sub-Committee held on 14 February 1967, she outlined her plan for compiling a history of the Hospital. The result was a book titled 'Prince Henry's: The Evolution of a Melbourne Hospital 1869 - 1969', published in 1969. Researchers should note that Minutes of Sundry Committees (VPRS 19367) contains the May 4 1966 meeting minutes of the Hospital Centenary Sub-Committee.
