Between August and September 2022, we interviewed 570 adult respondents (aged 18–80) from 15 communities surrounding Nigeria’s Cross River National Park to assess the palatability of solid animal-derived protein—domestic meat, fish, invertebrates, and wild meat. Respondents were categorized a priori into three groups: households (n = 190), hunters (n = 190), and vendors (individuals selling wild meat in markets and restaurants; n = 190).
