the hazard map shows the extent and intensity of floods. The main developments and
works which may have an effect on submersion conditions (roads, railways) y
also included.
It consists of three levels of hazards that are dependent on the intensity of the physical parameters of
flooding and translate in terms of severity for people and damage to property. This
are essentially water heights and flow velocities.

The area of strong hazard mainly corresponds to the areas of large flow with heights
of water greater than one metre or at significant speeds greater than one metre per
second.
Medium and low hazard areas represent areas of expansion or even storage of floods
with lower characteristics:
— for medium hazard, water heights between 0.50 m and 1 m or speeds
flow between 0.5 m/s and 1 m/s;
— for low hazard, water heights less than 0.50 m and flow velocities
less than 0.50 m/s.
