Sediment metagenomes from Movile Cave (Romania).

Movile Cave (Romania) is a chemoautotrophic-based subterrane environment that hosts a diverse invertebrate community, apparently isolated from the Earth surface. A sulfidic, thermal aquifer provides the energy for the primary producers of the ecosystem.Sediments samples were collected from distinct locations of the wet and dry galleries of the cave, shotgun metagenomes were sequenced, and the prokaryotic composition was analyzed.
