VPRS 12147 Register of Various Municipal Loans

Various acts were passed in Victoria between 1887 and 1945 to provide loans for various municipalities so that they might undertake capital works projects such as the construction of bridges and breakwaters, the dredging of lagoons, and the construction of public buildings.This series contains a register of loans appropriated under the following Acts:Local Government (Amendment) Act 1884, and subsequent amendments.Port Melbourne Lagoon Nuisance Suppression Act 1889Yarra Improvement Act 1896Victorian Government Consolidated Inscribed Stock Act 1898This series provides details of the municipality, the amount borrowed, the authorising Act and the terms of repayment.
