Digital Archive from an Archaeological Watching Brief at Severn Drive, Garforth, Leeds, November 2008

This collection comprises images and site records from an archaeological watching brief at Severn Drive, Garforth, Leeds. Work was carried out by AOC Archaeology Group in November 2008 which involved monitoring groundworks associated with a residential development. The project aimed to establish whether cropmarks identified in fields to the east the development site, thought to be of Iron Age or Romano-British date, extend into the development area. Six foundation trenches were monitored. No datable archaeological features were encountered, however, possible evidence of a ridge and furrow was observed in one foundation trench. No evidence was found to suggest that the activity represented by the cropmarks continued into the development site.
