Clostridium difficile is the leading cause of healthcare-associated infectious gastrointestinal disease. Here, we apply whole-genome sequencing, phylogenomics and comparative pan-genome analyses coupled with metadata association to understand the epidemiological dynamics of C. difficile in the Latin American region. The dataset consists in C. difficile strains isolated from retrospective outbreaks occurred in Latin American countries. The analysis of this data as well as its integration with genomic information from global collections will allow a better understanding of the epidemiology and genomic evolution of C. difficile.
