Spanish dataset of mergers and acquisitions 2007-2019

This contains a dataset of 2,325 mergers and acquisitions performed in Spain from 2007 to 2019. Data contains general information such as sector, deal value or stake transacted. In addition, the authors have created a new financial construct called “the Transforming Deal” which consists of an acquisition where the acquiring entity spends the whole year post announcement digesting the deal itself and not making any other relevant corporate movement or change that could have a meaningful impact on the business. This construct has been proposed to improve the analysis of the impact of mergers and acquisitions for the acquirer not only in the short term but also in the medium term.
