Private transactions on Ethereum

Private transactions are transactions that are confirmed but are not publicly visible in the mempool, which is a pool of unconfirmed transactions that are broadcast to the network. These transactions can be confirmed through direct channels with miners, such as MEV Boost. To identify private transactions, we use a combination of full nodes and API subscriptions to QuickNode and Infura to collect pending transactions as they enter the mempool. We then compare this data to the on-chain transactions to identify private transactions. Our data collection process is described in more detail at https://mempool.guru. Currently, this dataset includes private transactions from block 15449618 to block 16308189. More data will be uploaded in the future. It's important to note that it is possible, though unlikely, that some private transactions in our dataset may be false positives, meaning that they might have appeared in other mempools but not ours due to mempools not being synchronized. We use multiple nodes to minimize the risk of false positives and recommend cross-checking with other data sources, such as ZeroMEV, to further ensure accuracy.
