Microbiome communities with different transmission modes respond differently to host diet changes in a wood-feeding insect

The goal of this project is to determine how microbial groups with different modes of transmission (mixed transmission vs. vertical transmission) respond to hots-level diet changes. We used the wood feeding social insect Cryptocercus punctulatus and it's associated gut microbes to answer this question.
