The primary objective of this study was to evaluate the longitudinal impact of a fiber-enriched Centella asiatica (Asiatic juice) functional beverage on the human gut microbiome and its metabolic output. Specifically, the research aimed to determine if restoring fermentable substrate availability (via 10-20g/day of partially hydrolyzed guar gum) could successfully shift the microbial metabolic hierarchy from harmful proteolytic fermentation (protein breakdown) to beneficial saccharolytic fermentation (fiber breakdown) in healthy urban adults.
