VPRS 11466 Teacher Recruitment Advisory Committee - Minutes

Very little information could be gathered regarding the functions and responsibilities of the Teacher Recruitment Advisory Committee (TRAC) beyond the fact that it was formed to provide advice on recruitment policy for teachers in Victorian schools.Minutes of two working parties of TRAC are also contained among these records. They are the Primary Recruitment Working Party, and the Post-Primary Recruitment Working Party. These two working parties seemed to be largely involved in the maintenance of what was known as the Primary Temporary Employment Register, and the Post-Primary Employment Register. They also dealt with recruitment issues and other matters such as emergency teaching, student hostels, overseas recruitment, and publications.Evidence was also found of the establishment of a Relieving Teacher Working Party, and a Publications Working Party, but no documentation (minutes or reports) could be found from either of these two working parties.Contents of the minutes include agenda notices, names of members present at the meeting, and apologies from those not attending, confirmation of minutes received, correspondence received, general business arising from the minutes, specific cases for attention, and the date of next meeting.This is certainly not a complete set of minutes for either the Committee, or the Working Parties, and the arrangement is not strictly chronological.
