Determination of mitochondrial functions and damage in kidney in female LeeSung minipigs with a high-fat diet-induced obesity

We successfully established a DIO-related kidney injury in LeeSung minipigs. In addition, an ATP deficit and oxidative stress were observed in the renal cortex of DIO pigs. Our results provided additional evidences for the involvement of mitochondrial dysfunctions (biogenesis and dynamics) in DIO-related nephropathy.
